Bao Bao House began with a simple question: What if the bao you picked up on the go tasted like it just came from your own kitchen? Not something lukewarm and dry, not a frozen snack from a supermarket, but real food—fresh, hot, and made with care.

The idea came late one night (as many food obsessions do), somewhere between childhood food memories and a failed dough experiment that led to starting over at 2 a.m. After years of professional kitchen work—testing fillings, adjusting dough, getting every bite just right—the idea finally found its home.

We started in West Seattle with one mission: to bring fresh, fast, and creative Chinese comfort food to your everyday life—especially on those days when you don’t know what you’re craving. Our signature items are freshly steamed bao, but we also serve juicy pork soup dumplings, handmade wontons, and spring rolls with inventive, seasonal fillings. Our style isn’t strictly traditional, nor is it gimmicky—we use familiar flavors in new ways that just make sense.

Our menu changes with the seasons, using ingredients from local farmers markets. Everything is made to order and served hot—never under heat lamps, never out of a warming tray. That’s just not how we do things.

This is what Chinese comfort food means to us: hot, honest, fresh—and impossible to eat just one.
